The Cavanese is a cross between a purebred Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and a purebred Havanese and are sometimes referred to as a Havalier. They come in a range of colours including fawn, tan, black and white and can be bi or tricolored. Their coats are usually short and soft, and can have a wave or slight curl which will need regular grooming. They are smart, sweet dogs who are very affectionate but don’t like being left alone for too long and have been known to suffer from separation anxiety. Despite their size they do need regular exercise and enjoy playing with toys. They are eager to please so are regarded as highly trainable and respond best to rewards and praise.
